Contact MrAverage if you feel inclined....
After some major hassling by his Brucieness I have finally gotten to this….

Well, here goes….

Take your traditional church with it's stained glass windows, those beautiful works of art that adorn so many of our old buildings.
It came to me driving home from work one day that some churches are bit like this - I mean we have a grand picture in our minds of what we would like the church to look like, and then we go about designing the pieces to fit - this ministry over here fits with this one here etc… etc….. and we mould and shape the people and channel their giftings to suit our end in mind.
The problem with a stained glass window is that until all the pieces are available and fitted in with each other seamlessly, the picture is never complete. Sometimes, just when we think the picture is complete, a piece leaves or decides that it wants to be involved in another ministry, then again our picture is incomplete and doesn't look as grand and beautiful to us or those on the outside looking in.
Now take the example of the kaleidoscope, that simple toy that amused many of us when we were young (that was a while ago!!!!) no matter what pieces you have and however they fit together the end result is a stunning pattern, one piece leaves or a new piece joins the picture is still complete.
Even when the landscape changes and some pieces change shape to suit, the picture is still complete!!!!!
Try moving or rearranging the pieces of a stained glass window and the result is a shattered mess, NO PROBLEM, sweep them up, put them together and hey presto your very own kaleidoscope!

This word picture has just kept bugging me for so long, tell me what you think…….

After following the adventures of "the Travelling Fool" I've decided to put up some of my own ramblings and experiences.
